A Little Auk is The Viewpoint's on-property al fresco restaurant. For drinks and vibes, we converted a 1969 Airstream trailer into a chic bar serving craft cocktails. For dining, our al fresco bistro tables are partially-tented, with pergola seating for the bar and untented fire pits.

Does your restaurant have parking?

Yes! A Little Auk, our restaurant, has free parking for restaurant guests only. This parking can be accessed across the street from our main building, in-between The Spa House (white house) and the brown house. Restaurant guests may only park during their time at A Little Auk. All hotel guests and pool pass guests have dedicated parking passes.

Can I leave my car after checking-out?

We can typically accommodate parking for one car after checking-out until the evening of check-out day. However, we may not be able to on any given day due to private events or expected high-occupancy. In any case, please check with the front desk to arrange. If there is availability, they will provide you with an updated parking pass.

Can our baby, infant, or toddler stay in our room?

Each room has a maximum occupancy of two people per bed. One child under the age of 4 does not count towards our maximum occupancy. For example, you may stay in a Shoreside Room (one king bed) as two adults with one child below the age of 4. However, we do not provide cots, rollaway beds, pack and plays, or any other additional baby gear. You may arrange to rent this from BabyQuip ahead of time.

Do you accomodate VIP guests?

We take the privacy and experience of our guests seriously. For distinguished guests, we can make additional arrangements including ensuring security details have access to the property during the stay period, strict non-disclosure agreements with our team, and other steps to ensure the experience matches The Viewpoint's high standards.

Where can I smoke on the property?

Smoking is not permitted inside any rooms or on any decks or public areas. The designated smoking area is located across the street from our main building and located on Nubble Road — there are chairs located in-front of The Spa House where you can smoke. If you are found to have smoked inside your room, the card on file may be charged cover cleaning or replacement expenses for a minimum of $500.

Can I bring outside guests, like my friends or family, to the property during my stay?

Only guests staying at The Viewpoint have exclusive access to our amenities. Outside guests, like your friends or family, must register at the front desk upon arrival for any short visits. If you would like them to join you at the pool or The Baths, they may purchase pool passes (based on availability) or you may book private use of The Baths for one hour for an additional charge.

Do The Baths operate year-round?

Yes! The Baths are open daily, year-round, including in the winter. However, if the temperature reaches dangerous temperatures below freezing, we may choose to close the sauna and hot tub for the health and safety of our guests.

What are the hours for The Baths?

The Baths are open from 8AM until 7PM each day.

Can I charge meals to my room?

Yes, of course! You can charge any purchases at our seasonal, on-property restaurant A Little Auk to your room.

Does your restaurant take reservations?

Our seasonal, on-property restaurant does not take reservations and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to have a large party, you may email functions@cranehotels.com to inquire about booking an event.

Do spa guests have access to The Baths?

From May through October, spa guests who are not staying overnight at The Viewpoint do not have access to The Baths. From November through April, spa guests may have access to The Baths based on availability — access is never guaranteed, as The Baths may be booked by hotel guests for private use during their stay.

Do you have bathrobes and slippers?

Bathrobes and slippers are provided with every hotel stay, and may be worn when walking between your room, The Baths, and The Spa House. Bathrobes are available to purchase, as well!

Are you locally-owned and independent?

Yes! The Viewpoint is owned and managed by year-round locals who live just steps away from the property, and they operate entirely independently with just 18 rooms on the property — prioritizing guest experience.

How many people are allowed in each room or suite?

All of our spaces have a maximum occupancy of two people per bed/bedroom. For two bedroom suites, the maximum occupancy is four. For one bedroom suites or one-bed rooms, the maximum occupancy is two. One child under the age of four does not count towards maximum occupancy. However, we do not provide rollaway beds, cots, or pack and plays.

Do you have contactless check-in?

Our front desk is open from 8AM to 8PM every day. If you arrive after hours, please let us know so we can arrange an after-hours check-in.

What is the age requirement?

The Baths, The Fitness Studio, and The Spa House (and all associated treatments) have an age requirement of 18 years of age of older. Children are only welcome on the property as hotel guests.

Do you have gift cards?

Yes! You can purchase a hotel gift card for The Viewpoint, a restaurant gift card (which is valid at all three of our restaurants), or a spa gift card on our website. These e-gift cards are sent directly to you, or your gift recipient, for easy gifting.

What does the resort or facilities fee include and how much is it?

May through October, our resort fee is $30 per night. The resort fee includes: Shared access to the sauna and hot tub at The Baths, access to our heated saltwater pool, shuttle to our sister properties on Long Sands Beach (perfect for a beach day or a meal), beach chair and umbrella borrowing, beach bicycle borrowing, yoga classes on select days, 24/7 access to The Fitness Studio, and a welcome glass of prosecco upon check-in. All of these amenities are complimentary with your resort fee. November through April, our resort fee is $15 per night. This shoulder season resort fee includes the following: Shared access to the sauna and hot tub at The Baths, morning coffee and scones at The Welcome Point, a welcome glass of prosecco upon check-in, and 24/7 access to The Fitness Studio.

What is the difference between your room types?

There are seven Shoreside Rooms which were recently built into the hillside. These rooms are our most premium overnight experience and have the best views, including glass peekaboo showers with ocean views, fully glass walls so you can wake up to the sunrise (there are automatic privacy shades, of course!), luxury rain and jet showers, and peaceful private patios. Our boutique suites are located in our original building on the hilltop. Grand suites have separate bedrooms and living areas with kitchenettes, making them distinct. We have one-bedroom and two-bedroom grand suites available. Additionally, we have two two-bedroom suites which has a separate living area — but no kitchenette. Our one-bed studio, which also does not have a kitchenette, is the only space on the property that does not have ocean and lighthouse views from the room, but there are ocean views from its balcony.

What are your front desk hours?

The Welcome Point (aka our front desk) is open from 8AM to 8PM every day. Open 365 days a year, with shortened hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Where is The Viewpoint located?

The Viewpoint is located just feet across the water from Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine at 229 Nubble Road. The only main road to access The Viewpoint, which is at the top of the Nubble Point, is Nubble Road — with two entry points. Nubble Road is like a loop on the peninsula, with an entrance by Short Sands Beach and another entrance by Long Sands Beach.

When is your pool open?

Our outdoor heated saltwater pool is open from May 1st to mid-October every year.

When is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 4PM. Check-out is 11AM. If you'd like an early check-in or late check-out, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your request. The Welcome Point (our front desk) is open from 8AM until 8PM. Please contact us prior to your arrival if you expect to arrive after closing. If you plan to depart before the The Welcome Point opens, please leave your keys in the drop box located outside the door.

Are you open year-round?

We're open every day of the year including holidays. The Viewpoint offers something for every season: Cozy evenings by the flameless fireplace in your room or sauna mornings in the winter, stunning foliage with outdoor fire pits in the fall, swimming at the heated saltwater pool in the spring, and all of the postcard-perfect moments of a Maine summer. During our shoulder seasons, a curated list of recommendations for things to do including nature, culture, and restaurant will be shared with you upon check-in.

What is your cancellation policy?

We're a small, locally-owned and family-run business — so cancellations can impact us significantly. Please note that changes or cancellations to reservations must be made directly through the party you booked. For a full refund of your deposit, 30+ days notice is required. For a refund of your deposit minus a $25 cancellation fee, 14-29 days notice. Deposit is non-refundable less than 14 days before your stay. The Non-Refundable Pre-Pay rate is non-refundable. No refund is provided for late arrivals, early departures, no-shows, or weather-related cancellations. Changes or cancellations to reservations MUST be made directly through the party you booked.

Do you have electric vehicle charging?

As a coastal property in Maine, we care deeply about sustainability. There is an electric vehicle charger available for electric vehicles on the property. Availability is on a first-come first-serve basis.

Is there a restaurant on the property?

Our on-property restaurant, "A Little Auk," is an al fresco spot with shared plates and craft cocktails — open from mid-May until mid-October. If you're visiting in the late fall, winter, or early spring, our sister restaurants just 1.5 miles away Lulu's and Stones Throw are open, and we also provide a curated list of restaurants open year-round for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in York, Ogunquit, Portsmouth, and Kittery.

Do you have daily housekeeping?

Yes, we offer daily housekeeping by request. Just text us (or drop by The Welcome Point) to request a cleaning and your preferred time (for example, when you're out to lunch), and we'll take care of the rest. Looking for extra towels or coffee, or want to purchase a bottle of wine? Just let us know, and we'll leave them in your room!

Can I bring my pet?

The Viewpoint is a completely pet-free property. We do not allow pets inside or on hotel property. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, certified service dogs that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability are permitted. Emotional support animals do not fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Do all rooms have ocean views?

All of our rooms, with the exception of The Studio 110, have ocean views from inside and their terraces. However, two rooms do not have distinct views of Nubble Lighthouse: The Studio 110 and Grand Boutique Suite 108. These rooms do have ocean views and private patios, and the view is reflected in the price.

How private is the property?

All suites on the property have their own private entrance. Shared spaces are only available to hotel guests, including: The grounds and multiple patios, The Fitness Studio, seasonal heated saltwater pool, and The Baths.
