Lodging reopening, June 1st, 2020
The state of Maine has implemented travel and lodging restrictions to maintain a safe environment for its residents and traveling guests. Please note that we are required by the state of Maine to verify that you have completed your 14-day quarantine prior to check-in. Below are questions and answers provided by HospitalityMaine that will help you determine if a trip to Maine is the right choice for you.
- When can a guest quarantine in a hotel?
On July 1 or after. Before that time-period, the 14-day quarantine must be completed in a family home or second home in Maine. Not a rented cottage, short-term rental, or inn.
- Can a visitor from another state complete their quarantine in their hometown, drive to Maine and check into a hotel?
No. The 14-day quarantine must be completed in Maine.
- What is required for verification of whether an out-of-state guest has quarantined for 14 days in the state of Maine?
Ask where in Maine they quarantined. A written response, text or email is OK, and will serve to keep on file as verification of quarantine.
- Can Maine residents travel freely in June?
Yes. No quarantine required. No questions asked. All inns can book Maine guests in June.
- Are there any other alternatives to the quarantine?
The state is actively looking at alternatives, which could include testing. Nothing has been announced yet.
The CDC recommends all individuals remain 6’ or more away from each other in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. With recent events in mind we are adapting our procedures to maximize protection for our guests and our team.
In addition to heightened awareness and sanitizing practices, we have adopted the practices below to maintain compliance with Federal and State requirements as well as keep both our guests and our staff healthy.
*We are requiring “Virtual” Check-In and Check-Out to all our guests. The day of your arrival you will receive a text message from Crane Hotel Group – directions to your suite will be provided and additional information/your parking pass will be waiting for you in your suite. Your keys will be left in a lockbox at your suite, and your lockbox code will be provided to you shortly before your check-in. If you prefer not to opt-in to the text messaging service, you must call us or email us to get this information. Any suite balances will be charged to the card on file unless otherwise designated prior to your arrival. In keeping your reservation, you are agreeing to have the card on file charged as well as agreeing to our hotel policies, which can be found in your confirmation email attachment or on our website: www.viewpointhotel.com/information.
*We are required to obtain written verification of 14-day quarantine for out-of-state guests, in either email or text form. If no quarantine verification is received prior to 5 days in advance of your reservation, your reservation will be cancelled, and your credit card will be refunded.
*Housekeeping will not be offering in-suite services at this time. We are happy give you a customized bag of your favorite necessities. Are you a BIG coffee drinker? Make sure you tell us! Dry skin? We’ll get you extra lotion! You may leave rubbish and dirty towels in provided bags outside of your suite and we will exchange them for you. Please call, text, or email us by 3 pm each day to let us know what we can get for you!
*We ask that you bag any used linens such as towels in the bags provided upon your departure.
Please also note that restaurants are restricted to take-out, curbside, or in some cases delivery services only – there are no dine-in restaurant facilities available. Cloth masks are required when indoors, and in public areas when social distancing is not possible. Examples of this would be a hotel hallway or a grocery store.
As always, we will keep you updated as information is made available to us. We urge all our guests to stay informed on the ever-evolving Federal, Maine, and Town of York policies. We appreciate your continued support in our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy environment!
